DENVER (KDVR) — Voters roundly rejected the plan to develop the former Park Hill golf course.Nearly 60% of voters had rejected the plan as of 2 p.m. Wednesday. The campaign in favor of the measure conceded. Denver Election Results 2023: Live updates If passed, the measure would have overturned a conservation easement and allowed developers to build affordable housing, a park and possibly a grocery store on the land. Since the measure didn't pass, developers say it will have to remain a golf course, according to the conservation easement. "Unfortunately, what's going to happen now is status quo. That land is privately owned land and it is restricted in all uses by a conservation easement that was first put in place 25 years ago, and the easement could not be more clear. It says very clearly, in black and white, that that land by law must remain a golf course, driving range and affiliated uses," said Bill Rigler, a spokesperson for Westside Investment Partners.Park Hill golf course ...

It’s a lot of memories. Every hit means a lot, from the first one to 2,000 today. It means a lot for me and the family and the people who have helped me through my career.“I’m not going to lie: I wanted to get this hit in Houston. My family was there, but just the way it goes. Playoff implications of Nets’ final 3 games

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 07:27:06 GMT

The Nets are mathematically eliminated from the East’s No. 5 seed.Even if they win each of their final three games, starting with Wednesday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons, the NBA’s tiebreaker rules are clearly defined.Three straight wins for the Nets and three season-ending losses for the fifth-seeded Knicks would tie the city’s two pro basketball teams at 46 wins and 36 losses apiece. When that happens, the team with the better head-to-head record claims the higher seed. The Nets and Knicks, of course, are tied in their season series at 2-2.Assuming the Nets also beat the Philadelphia 76ers in the season finale, the city’s two teams would also be tied in their division record at eight wins and eight losses each, the next set of tie-breaking criteria to establish playoff pecking order. Here’s where the Nets draw the short end of the stick: better record against teams in the playoffs or tied for a playoff spot. The Knicks have an 18-16 record...

Boston City Councilor Erin Murphy said her colleagues’ decision to block her request for internal communications in the city’s ongoing redistricting saga was not only unprecedented, it was immature and unprofessional. But Ricardo Arroyo, co-sponsor of the redistricting map, and one of the six councilors who opposed Murphy’s request on Wednesday, said the move amounted to nothing more than “political theater,” as the emails she’s seeking can easily be accessed by contacting the city’s public records officer.Murphy’s request, which was defeated after the council deadlocked in a 6-6 vote, was for a copy of the 5,816 pages of redistricting correspondence sent between all 13 councilors and Wayne Yeh, policy director for Councilor Liz Breadon, previously obtained by Attorney John Lyons, per a public records request. Some of the emails shared with Murphy, which she submitted along with the request she filed with the City Council, appeared to point to open meeting law violations in the fraugh...
