CHICAGO — Chicago police on Thursday released video footage of an SUV linked to a July homicide in the city's South Deering neighborhood. The video shows a dark-colored SUV with a missing front plate and distinct rims in the 9700 block of S. Merrion Ave., around 7:10 p.m. on July 19.The Chicago Police Department seeks help identifying the vehicle and the individual (s) involved.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (312) 747-8271 or [email protected]. AUSTIN (KXAN) — At a fundraising luncheon Thursday, Samsung executives presented a $40,000 donation to Skillpoint Alliance, a nonprofit that gives students free training in skilled professions and manufacturing.The check was presented by Kwee Lan Teo, head of workforce development for Samsung Austin Semiconductor. Moments before the presentation, Teo gave several remarks about the company's businesses in Austin and Central Texas.She said the company wants to continue its investment and partnerships it has with agencies like Skillpoint Alliance.Kevin Brackmeyer, CEO of Skillpoint Alliance, said employers like Samsung and others at the luncheon have expressed a desire for a strong local workforce."The manufacturing industry has really high demand. All of our classes are full, electrical and HVAC as well have been really significant. Our HVAC class has about 90 students on a waiting list. ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- Experts say New York landfills are reaching their limits, all while polluting our land and air ways. Much of the material is exported to upstate counties or out of state to Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. And when it comes to recycling, it's not being utilized as it should, "We divert something like 18% of the total material for recycling, which is miserable," said Maggie Clarke, Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board member. She said 82% of the city's trash is being exported, "And most of what is exported is reusable, recyclable, or compostable. We’re spending on this export, it’s in the hundreds of millions, like four or five hundred million dollars every year," said Clarke. And, it's bad for the environment. DEC proposed a Solid Waste Management Plan that the public was allowed to comment on until June. FULTON COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Fulton County Public Health Department released an alert warning of a skunk in the area that has tested positive for rabies. TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The 16-year-old arrested in the homicide case of Alexander Crawford will be prosecuted as an adult. Crawford was shot in front of the Family Dollar store in North Troy on July 2 and passed away at a local hospital. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A new short term housing facility helping those experiencing mental health challenges that don't qualify for hospitalization opened today in Saratoga County. It's an intensive care facility designed to treat those whose mental health crises don't require hospitalization, or those just emerging from hospitalization. “To have the second crisis intensive housing in New York State be located, right here is going to be such an aid to the people in our community who are struggling” said Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner.Ideas for the 12 bed facility date back to 2018. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 57-year-old man from Schenectady County was sentenced to serve 21 months in prison. Craig Foley, a registered sex offender, failed to update his residential address with the New York Division of Criminal Justice Services. He has a lifetime registration requirement by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act. Foley moved from New York to Pennsylvania in November 2020.
